Mobile Mechanic Shop OS Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mobile Mechanic Shop OS ("the App") handles information when you use the App. The App is designed for mechanics and automotive service professionals to manage customers, vehicles, repair orders, inspections, photos, reports, signatures, and related business records.

Information You Enter Into the App

Depending on how you use the App, you may enter or store information such as:

• Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, and related contact information.
• Vehicle information, including year, make, model, VIN, license plate, mileage, service history, and notes.
• Repair orders, estimates, inspections, recommendations, work performed, prices, and job status.
• Photos and other job-related media.
• Signatures and customer-report information.
• Business settings, branding, warranty language, and other app preferences.

Local Device Storage

The App is designed to work locally on your device. Information that remains stored only on your device is not transmitted to or accessible by the developer solely because it is stored in the App.

You may remove local app data using the App's Erase Local Data feature or through your Android device's application-storage controls.

Optional Google Sign-In and Cloud Backup

Mechanic subscribers may optionally sign in with Google to enable cloud backup and device-transfer functionality. If you choose to use this feature, account information supplied through Google authentication, such as your account identifier and email address, may be processed for authentication and account association.

When cloud backup is enabled, app records selected for backup may be transmitted to cloud infrastructure so that they can be restored on another device. This may include customers, vehicles, repair orders/jobs, photos, settings, and other account-associated app records.

Photos and Media

The App may allow you to capture, import, display, save, and associate photos with jobs or customer reports. Photos stored only on your device remain local unless you choose a feature that transmits or backs them up.

VIN Scanning

Mechanic subscribers may use VIN-scanning functionality. Camera access may be used to scan vehicle identification information. VIN data may be stored with the applicable vehicle record and may be included in cloud backup if you enable cloud backup.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Mobile Mechanic Shop OS may offer a paid Mechanic subscription through Google Play. Subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, and payment processing are handled by Google Play and related subscription-management services. The developer does not directly receive your full payment-card information from Google Play.

Subscription services may process purchase status, product identifiers, entitlement status, transaction information, or anonymous/pseudonymous app-user identifiers as needed to provide subscription access.

Advertising

The Free version of the App may display advertising. Advertising services may process information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app interactions, approximate device or network information, and diagnostic data as permitted by your device settings, applicable law, and the advertising provider's policies. Mechanic subscribers are intended to receive an ad-free experience.

Service Providers

The App may use third-party services to provide specific functionality, including services for:

• Google Play distribution, billing, and subscriptions.
• Subscription-entitlement management.
• Advertising.
• Google authentication.
• Cloud storage, backup, and account services.

These providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies as necessary to deliver their services.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

• Provide the App's customer, vehicle, repair-order, inspection, report, and photo features.
• Authenticate users who choose optional Google sign-in.
• Back up and restore account-associated records when cloud backup is enabled.
• Verify subscription status and provide paid features.
• Display advertising to Free users.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose technical problems, and improve reliability.
• Comply with legal obligations where applicable.

Data Sharing

The developer does not sell customer or repair-order records. Information may be transmitted to service providers when necessary to provide features you use, such as authentication, cloud backup, subscription management, advertising, or Google Play services.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information. Network communications for configured cloud and authentication services are intended to use encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App, subject to Android device behavior.

Cloud-stored data may remain associated with your account until it is deleted or an account-deletion request is completed. Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations.

Account and Data Deletion

If you use optional Google sign-in, you may request deletion of your Mobile Mechanic Shop OS account and associated cloud-stored data.

After a valid request is verified, account-associated cloud data will be deleted, including applicable customer, vehicle, repair-order/job, backup, photo, settings, and other account-associated records, except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or regulatory purposes.

Data stored only on your device is not accessible to the developer and can be removed through Erase Local Data or Android's application-storage controls.

Deleting your Mobile Mechanic Shop OS account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Google Play subscriptions must be managed or canceled through Google Play.

Children's Privacy

Mobile Mechanic Shop OS is intended for adult automotive professionals and is not directed to children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
